Overview
 

Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology Laboratory (AMNL) was established on the 1st November 1999 and formerly known as Advanced Materials Research Center (AMRC) and later was changed to Advanced Materials Laboratory (AML). Parallel with university’s restructuring, its name was changed from Advanced Materials Laboratory (AML) to Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology (AMNL) in 2006. This laboratory is one of the seven research laboratories under the Institute of Advanced Technology (ITMA). AMNL also involved in three main activities:

1) Interdisciplinary research and development work in advanced materials
2) Postgraduate research programs
3) Dissemination of innovative knowledge and technologies in advanced materials

Research Area

Advanced Functional Materials

This program  prepares students with in-depth multi-disciplinary knowledge, current issues and practices in the field of advanced materials such as  electronic materials, magnetic and superconducting materials, dielectric ceramic material, photonic material, thin film material and smart material.

Nanotechnology

This program aims at preparing students with knowledge related to Nano material and technology which involves the use of nanosize materials for example in sensor, in delivery system, and as nanoabsorbent, nano electronic, nano machine, nano composite, carbon nanotube, catalysis and nanotechnology.
