ITMA Spearheading R&D in Advanced Technologies
The Institute of Advanced Technology (ITMA), Universiti Putra Malaysia was established on 1st November 1999 as an interdisciplinary advanced research institute. ITMA provides leadership in research and development in cutting-edge areas of Physical Science, Information Technology and Engineering. ITMA develops world-class research laboratories in niche areas of advanced technology, attracts renowned researchers and train future research leaders in advanced technology. ITMA shares its research findings, expertise and facilities with research communities and industries throughout the world.
Objectives
The Institute of Advanced Technology which aims to be a leading institute of advanced research in Physical science, Information Technology & Engineering shall focus on research, postgraduate studies and services. ITMA was established with the following objectives:
To undertake, coordinate and lead interdisciplinary research and development in cutting-edge areas of advanced technology.
To offer postgraduate training programmes at the M.Sc. and Ph.D. levels to local and local international students .
To develop center for dissemination of knowledge and innovative technology centre and network with universities, laboratories and industries globally.
